Summer Camp 2026 Wrap Up!

We cannot believe that summer camp is over! Campers enjoyed an action pack filled summer with our awesome staff and volunteers! Campers also had the opportunity to enjoy free breakfast and lunch due to the collaboration of SFSP, Hockomock Area YMCA and the Milford School Food & Nutrition Services Department.

Week 5 was themed Harry Potter Week! Campers hung out with Otis the therapy dog on Monday and got their acceptance letter to the MYC School of Magic! The rain didn’t stop the campers from getting sorted into their House for the week and attending classes! Transfiguration class taught them how to sculpt clay animals, others tested their harry potter knowledge, and some campers even got to watch Harry Potter! On Tuesday, we packed the buses and took a trip to Urban Air. Campers and staff enjoyed climbing and bouncing around all their course, conquered the indoor zipline, and enjoyed the arcade! On Wednesday, the Tri-Wizard tournament was announced in our very own Daily Prophet newspaper, campers put their name into the Goblet of Fire if they wanted to participate on Friday! Then campers got to design and decorate their own wands and use them to cast away Voldemort before visiting the pool! At Fino houses competed for points in various relay races! Thursday we took another trip to Mendon Town beach! Friday was the day everyone was waiting for, the Tri-Wizard Tournament and a Magic Show! Campers started the day with a Magic Show by Tommy James, which included illusions and some comedy mixed in. After lunch, campers separated by house and started the Tri-Wizard Tournament. This year was broken into three challenges, Slytherin won the first competition ‘Capture the Dragon Egg,’ Ravenclaw used incredible teamwork to win the second challenge, a blindfolded maze, and all teams won points playing Quidditch in the final round! Ravenclaw walked away with the most points making them the winning house! Our campers of the week were Anistyn and Seth, and our counselors were Jazzy and Gustavo.

The last week of Camp was Color Wars! This is a fun-filled week of team competitions! Campers were split up into 6 groups, identified by color, and they competed against each other through a series of fun challenges throughout the week! Monday started withOtis and team making! For their first team challenge, they

had to plan out their team banners, using only their one team color, for which they were judged and given points, and they were each given a bandana with their team color! They also played several games at Fino Pool to help earn points! On Tuesday, the camp made their last trip to Mendon Town Beach for our summer camp program! The campers had a great time swimming, jumping off the dock, playing sports and hanging out on the swing set! The most important activity of the day was Color Wars teams building sandcastles to earn points for their team! On Wednesday teams competed in a series of Minute to Win it Games to earn more points before getting ice-cream from the Ice Box Trailer and heading to Fino pool! On Thursday, teams broke off throughout Milford, within a .5-mile radius of the Center, on a scavenger hunt with Milford Fire Department! After counting points campers got snow cones and played Family Feud and Among Us to get the final points for the competition! Congratulations to Team Pink for Winning Color Wars! Our Campers of the week were Brian and Victoria! Our Counselors of the week were Maddie and Kiaxell! Our final day of camp came fast and both campers and staff enjoyed a sunny day at Onset beach! We would also like to thank the Hockomock Area YMCA for lending us some lifeguards for the day!

Thank you for a great summer! Make sure to check out all our social media pages for fun photos and videos of camp! Finally, we would also like to thank everyone who donated scholarships this summer: The Agnes M Lindsay Trust, Donna & Bob Lanciault, Kerry Pepe, Patty Bruce, Suzanne Whitehouse and Jacques Coty!
