PT Health Coordinator Position!

The Milford Youth Center is looking for a part-time Health Coordinator for the After School program! The Health Care Coordinator will manage, coordinate and oversee different fitness and nutritional programs and projects. The position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Schedule program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program and set priorities for managing the program (for weekly nutrition and fitness programs for After School programming).
  • Monitor and a supervise youth, staff and/or volunteers during nutritional and fitness programming.
  • Oversee after school gymnasium and staff when not running structured program.
  • Manage marketing and outreach to the community.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation from outside sponsors for health programming.
  • Monthly reporting and basic office assignments.

This position is part-time and therefore an average of 19 hours/week from 2-6 PM and is listed at $23.11/hr.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in health and/or fitness background; two (2) + yeas of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job; food safety and nutrition background desired;
  • Special Requirements: First Aid and CPR/AED Certification required.  As a condition of employment, the employee must successfully pass a background check and be CORI certified.
  • Knowledge, Abilities and Skill: Working knowledge of management and administrative principles and practices (familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel and Publisher). Knowledge of sport and fitness equipment and safety
  • Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and patience with department staff and the public. Ability to complete multiple tasks in an organized and timely manner.  Maintain a flexible, adaptable and respectful demeanor at all times.
  • Skill: Proficient oral and written communication skills (bilingual skills desirable – Spanish and Portuguese); cultural sensitivity a must.  Proficient customer service skills.

  • Physical Skills: Some physical demands are required to perform the work.  Work effort principally involves sitting to perform work tasks, with intermittent periods of stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing.   • Motor Skills: Position requires the employee to have basic motor skills to carry out activities such as operating a personal computer and/or most other office equipment, keyboarding and/or word processing, filing, moving objects, and sorting of papers.
  • Visual Skills: Visual demands of the position require the employee to routinely read and interpret documents for general understanding. The employee is not required to distinguish colors.
