Monthly Gratification Post: Thank you, Mr. Michael A. Ferrucci.

Each month, we thank an individual, business and/or organization who supports our efforts. This month we would like to recognize the late, Mr. Michael A. Ferrucci.

Mr. Ferrucci, known to the children of Youth Center as the man who drove the tractor. A generous, kind gentleman who spent a lifetime learning, working, sharing his knowledge and thriving in all aspects of his life. His family farm has been around for 200 + years. Through his generosity to donate goods from his farm and dedication to the Milford Youth Center, we acknowledge Mr. Ferrucci this month for all he has done for the youth of Milford.

For years, Mr. Ferrucci donated, without hesitation, to the Youth Center. He drove his tractor through the streets of Milford to deliver soil for our garden beds so the After-school Gardening program could plant outdoor garden beds. Additionally, he donated plants on numerous occasions to give the beds a head start. Michael was a true behind-the-scenes supporter. He was never one to seek recognition or pose for photos, but we were fortunate enough to capture him in a few special moments. His generosity was simply something he did because he believed in helping others and giving back to his community.

Through his family values, love for farm life and all that comes with it, his daughter, Chrissy a former Milford Youth Center staff, continues to volunteer whenever we need help with all things gardening! Mr. Ferrucci’s values, love for his family, love for animals and farm life will be lived on through his children and wife. His legacy is that of many things, his love for music, fishing, history and cooking are all a part of him. His love for the farm, community, animals but most of all his family. The Milford Youth Center family will be forever grateful for his generosity, willingness and dedication to the Milford Youth Center.

Thank you to the Ferrucci family for choosing the Milford Youth Center Gardening Program as the memorial donation recipient. This is just another demonstration of the Ferrucci family and their endless demonstration of kindness for their community.
