This year’s end of the year party was a remarkable success! It fell on Thursday, June 13th with 118 youth attending! We had many of our traditional specials such as photo booth, indoor jumpy, lawn games, face painting, snow cones, senior staff gifts and awards, superlatives and water slide jumpy!
This year, we continued the raffle prize, for those who filled out a quick survey pertaining to after-school program preferences and suggestions for the 2024-2025 school year, they were entered for a chance to win a board game basket! Congrats to Erick, whose ticket was pulled!
We are so grateful to Dominique and Chase of Milford TV for attending! They interviewed staff and children and recorded the award ceremony.
Finally, we were so happy to award two graduating seniors our MYC Scholarship/Grant Award to Anthony Dew and Miguel Oliveira. This is the second year of the following scholarship opportunity, that the Youth Commission added in honor of dedicated, long time board member and volunteer, Sandy Caproni. The scholarship was named the “Sandra Caproni Good Citizen Award.” This year’s recipient was Julya Caldeira. New this year, is another amazing award, created by former Board Member of twenty plus years, who continues to be dedicated to the Milford Youth Center, Steve Manguso. He so generously created this award to show his endless support to the youth of Milford. This year’s first recipient was awarded to Antoniyo Christiansen.
We’d like to extend a big thank you to Sargeant Michael Mastrioianni for taking the initiative, and stationing two Special Operations Officers, James Woodward and Jon Lavigne for the duration of our end of the year celebration. Thank you also to our Board Members, Gail, who also volunteered, Christine Crean and Bill Farrell for attending as well as volunteers: Big Y employees of the Milford and Franklin stores, Angela Maxfield, Marc Piche, Emily Silva and Earl Wilson!
