Each month we thank an individual, business and /or organization who supports our efforts. This month we would like to extend an extra thank you to long time MYC volunteers, Pam Hunter, William Farrell and Judy Tusino!
In March of this year, the full-time staff were left to juggle the daily tasks that would otherwise be completed by our front-desk team. While we were making it work, we reached out to ask if any of our volunteers would be able to pack dinners, according to their availability, just to help us out. As fast as we hit send to reach out to our volunteers, three volunteers replied within the same week, created a schedule, and thus began the dinner packing trio.
Pam, Judy and Will each came on different days during the school months, sometimes, together, to pack dinners. This was an amazing help, commitment and gesture from our volunteers. Just knowing the free dinners for registered after-school members would be taken care of daily was a relief! Each of these 3 amazing volunteers showed up with enthusiasm, stories to share and smiles to offer for our endless picture taking.
The definition of the word volunteer is, “a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or take on a task.” But to the Youth Center, a volunteer is so much more than a person who completes a task, they become part of the MYC family, people who are just as committed to the Center and to the youth as the MYC staff are. People who are willing to occupy their free time with helping us succeed. For these reasons, the Milford Youth Center thanks you, appreciates you and is grateful for you! We can’t wait for you to return in the fall!
