Monthly Thank Yous: August 2023

The Youth Center would like to extend a very appreciative thank you to the following list who donated items and/or their time this month to the Center:

  • Milford MA Patch and Harold S. Rhodes for recognizing the Director, Jen Ward, as an Unsung Milford Leader;
  • Benjamin Moore & Co for donating $2,500.00 to the Center for programming;
  • Everyone who has purchased tickets and/or donated monetarily or contributed a raffle prize for our upcoming fundraiser at CraftRoots;
  • Shaw’s of Milford for selecting us to be their July Give Back Where it Counts Reusable bag program recipient;
  • United Way of Tri County and to the Hockomock Area YMCA for donating backpacks for our 60 youth;
  • Milford Regional Medical Center for collaborating on our wellness and fitness programming;
  • Jill, Skylah, and Millie from Milford Regional Center, Meredith Purtell, and Chrissy Morales-McIntyre from Stacy Middle School, Aaron and Mike from New Human, Amanda from Community Impact and the Milford Police Department, and Jen, Iliana and Landon from the Milford Youth Center and AmeriCorps for presenting for our Youthworks Signal Success presentations;
  • Milford Federal Bank for collecting snack items for our campers;
  • Hockomock Area YMCA for continuing to offer their Mobile Food Truck to our participants once/month;
  • Milford Food Service Program, SFSP and the Hockomock YMCA for providing breakfast and lunches to our summer campers;
  • Milford TV and ‘That Milford Show’ for having Youth Commission Co-Chair Stacy Darling, Director Jen Ward, and Assistant Director Emily Stienstra on the show to talk about upcoming programming at the Center;
  • Amazon for donating snacks for the campers;
  • Pan Mass Challenge for donating leftover snacks from the race (Thank you also for the delivery of donations provided by MAFSA (Milford Area Food Security Alliance and Hockomock YMCA);
  • Brian Macchi and Milford Girls Softball League for donating chips and granola bars for the summer campers;
  • GoldFish Swim School for having our camp swim on Wednesdays throughout the summer;
  • Brendan Rickert and family for donating a bookshelf;
  • The Ward Family for donating Bruins sweaters, swift mops, and bowl/container sets for our fundraiser raffles;
  • The Benjamin Family for donating donuts to all of the campers and staff for the last day of camp;
  • Kristin Melpignano for donating yoga mats, art supplies, and office supplies;
  • The Fernandes/Repella Family for monetary donation;
  • Sergeant Mike Mastroianni, Special Operations/Training Supervisor, for conducting a Civilian Response to an Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) Training for our After School and Admin Staff;
  • Milford Fire Department for replacing AED pads;
  • Gymnasium Floors Inc. for sanding and polishing our gymnasium floor as part of our annual maintenance;
  • Volunteers: Phyllis Foley for running our gardening program weekly during camp and helping us with our tower garden and outdoor garden; Elaine McNanna and Patsy Timmons for helping Phyllis run a pressed flower gardening program for campers; Pyper Bourre for helping clean up after summer camp; David Abrantes for helping during our Canobie Lake Park field trip; and for all our Board Members for meeting monthly to help oversee this amazing asset to the community! We would also like to thank and wish good luck to Mishelle Hebshie of Milford TV! She recently let us know that her career has taken her to a new location, while we are so happy for her and wish her well on her new journey, the staff and youth at MYC will miss her!
