This month’s gratification post is dedicated to longtime volunteer of the Milford Youth Center, Brian Bell. Brian has been a part of the Youth Center for over 10 years! Brian is known for volunteering for our boxing program but many people may not know that he also dedicated months of time prior to the renovation to help move all of the supplies, equipment and furniture to either storage lockers and/or into the temporary location, along with the Director Jen Ward.
Since the completion of the renovation, from 2016 to present, Brian has volunteered over 112 hours for our boxing program alone, with hundreds more prior to! Brian’s long history with boxing makes him an exceptional teacher of this sport, the Youth center is lucky to have him. “Chef Brian”, as he refers to himself as, teaches the children that boxing is not for the fight but for the discipline. Brian was trained by Coach Pablo Ramos beginning in the Natick and Framingham area. Brian is a boxing coach with over 52 years of coaching and boxing experience. The goal of the program is to teach self-confidence, respect, and discipline with an incredible physical work out. His personal hope is for the students to see their progression from their hard work in the program!
