We are quickly approaching March, which means it’s time to think about March Madness here at the Milford Youth Center! We are so glad to bring this beloved tradition back to our after-school programming.
This is a wonderful event for the after-school youth members to get active, stay team orientated and get involved in some fun competition. This will be a 3-week long, double elimination, 3 vs. 3 tournaments! All the youth participants will receive a T-shirt, along with trophies and medals being awarded at the end of the tournament to second and first place participants! Games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3:30 during our after-school program. All members of the youth center who would like to participate may sign up at the Center though the month of February. There will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, March 1st at 3:30 to discuss dates, times, rules and to draft teams!
We are also looking for volunteers to referee and keep score during our tournament. Games will be played twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays and the final championship game will be scheduled for Wednesday, March 22nd at 3:30 pm. All participants are welcome back to also participate in a three-point contest that day! New this year, on March 24th we will have our first annual March Madness Staff vs. MVP Youth game which will begin at 3:30 p.m. MVP players will be selected by their peers and staff. MVP players will show excellent sportsmanship, leadership, and skill.
