On Wednesday, October 12th, we were able to unveil one of our new program spaces dedicated to our former Board Member, Ron Taylor. Ron unfortunately passed away in December of 2021 but he always wished to see more like skills programs at the Center. We are so excited to now have a space dedicated to various different life skills programs in his honor, called “Ron’s Work Shop.” This space would not have been possible without:
- $2,000 Grant from Greater Worcester Community Foundation for electrical upgrades;
- $5,000 Grant from the Foundation for MetroWest for program supplies and equipment;
- State Representative Brian W. Murray for securing a funding earmarked in the state budget that states “that no less than $50,000 shall be expended for programs, services or renovations at the Milford Youth Center”
- Benjamin Construction & Remodeling for the build out and beautiful sign;
- Braza & Mancini for the electrical work;
- To the Town Facilities Team, especially Carlos Benjamin and Jay Vaz;
- Milford TV for filming and for the support;
- Francoise Elise, our volunteer grant writer;
- To all the staff, local representatives, board members and friends of Ron;
- And to the Family of Ron Taylor!
Please check out the photos of the space on our social media pages! For more about Ron and what he meant to the Center, please click here! if you would like to support this space, click here!
