Thank You for an Amazing Summer!

MYC Summer Camp was a big success this year, with over 90 different youth throughout the summer! Over the 6-week program, campers enjoyed a full day UMass Extension, 4-H Youth Development Program STEAM program, a drone presentation from two Milford Special Operations officers, a swim safety class from Goldfish Swim School in Milford, an Air-Quailty presentation thanks to the Milford Board of Health and MassDEP, multiple trips to the YMCA Pool in Franklin, arts and crafts programming, fun Friday spirit days, MYC Feud, movie days and open gym and game room! Campers enjoyed going on 2 field trips a week! Some of our field trips included Mendon Lake, Silver Lake in Bellingham, ForeKicks, PINZ, Kimball Farm, Water Wizz, Canobie Lake Park, and Onset Beach! Thank you to Fisher Bus Company for getting us safely to our trips and to the Hockomock YMCA Pool for allowing us to come two days a week! Finally, thank you to all our amazing camp counselors who helped provide such a fun and safe environment for the campers!

Every year we receive donations that help make camp available for local youth in need! On behalf of the Milford Youth Center, we would like to thank everyone who contributed to our summer camp scholarship campaign this year, which helped us reach almost $9,000 in donations:

  • Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation – $5,000;
  • 7-Eleven Store 35487 – $2,000;
  • Milford MA Rotary Club – $1,050;
  • Dolores Ivester – $350
  • Linda O’Brien for her generous donation of – $175;
  • Maria Oregan, Grace Lavallee, and Elaine McNanna – $175

Thank you everyone for your continued support and generosity!

We would also like to give a huge shout out to the Hockomock YMCA and Milford Summer Food Service Program for providing the campers with free breakfast and lunch every day they attended camp! Please visit our Facebook or Instagram to see pictures from the Summer! We hope to see you next Summer! Finally, we would like to thank the Milford Board of Health for helping us coordinate the program, allowing it be run as safe as possible!
