The Milford Youth Center is very excited introduce Gwendolyn, our 2020-2021
Social Capital Inc.
AmeriCorps member. As she says, “I’m excited to be the MYC’s Volunteer Outreach Coordinator. I hope to continue growing our volunteer pool and find opportunities for volunteers to work with us. If you have an interest in volunteering with MYC you should definitely reach out to me via email here or by calling the Youth Center at 508-473-1756! Prior to joining AmeriCorps, I worked at an independent bookstore. I found MYC through the AmeriCorps platform and was attracted by the commitment to the community, the programming we do, and the people who work here. I’m a big reader, enjoy walks with my dog, and collect dragons. I’m looking forward to my year at MYC and getting to know the volunteers and students who come here.”
The Youth Center received funding from the Greater Milford Community Health Network: CHNA 6 as part of their COVID-19 Emergency Grant Program in order to hire Gwendolyn! The $7,500 grant is used to support the full-time AmeriCorps member, who will serve at the Youth Center for the next 10 months! Gwendolyn, with the assistance of Social Capital Inc., will be professionally trained, to help serve the Milford Community and more specifically help Milford Youth Center staff with continuing to provide resources and programs for the community during this difficult time. We would like to thank CHNA 6, Social Capital Inc. and the AmerCorps Program for this award and their support!
