Congratulations to Victoria Williams, who graduated from the SCI AmeriCorps Program this month. AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects more than 80,000 citizens (nearly 2,000 in MA) each year in intensive service to meet our country’s critical needs in education, the environment, public safety (including disaster preparedness and response), health, etc. Since 1994, 820,000 AmeriCorps members have contributed more than 1 billion hours of service.
The Youth Center has been lucky enough to have Victoria as a part of our center, working under AmeriCorps. She has worked diligently leading our youth council, supervising our after-school program, and assisting staff with all fundraisers and events throughout the year. We are excited to announce that she will join us again for the 2017-2018 school year. We are so happy to have created this partnership with AmeriCorps, which began in 2006. The members they provide us with perform essential services for the Center, which are crucial to our outreach and education of our youth.
