We would like to thank Eric Buckenmaier for selecting the Youth Center for his Eagle Scout Project! We are very excited to use the amazing kiosk in the newly renovated Youth Center!
Check out why Eric choose the Center for his project: “I chose to do my Eagle project for the MYC for numerous reasons. The main inspiration I had to want to do something for the Youth Center was from my own memories of hanging around and having fun there. All throughout 5th-8th grade, every now and then, I would make my way down there to go to the youth center. Whether it was playing basketball or just hanging around with friends it was always fun, and convenient because of how close it is to the schools. With that all in mind I knew it was a prime place to look into doing a project. Especially because I knew with it being such a hot spot for kids of all ages that no matter what it was I would do it would be utilized and be beneficial to so many. Mr. De Jesus led me around and began going down the long list of things that were needed. I decided to go with the kiosk idea because I understood how it could have multiple purposes, and aid in countless different ways. From there all that was left was to build it, which took a few months, but in the end the time was worth it and the finished product looked great. I look forward to seeing it complement the soon to be fully renewed Youth Center in the coming months, and enjoyed getting to contribute to such an important place.”
